Tokenization Specialist Centrifuge Appoints Former Goldman Sachs Executive as COO
Centrifuge (CFG), a blockchain platform specializing in tokenized investment products, has named Jürgen Blumberg as its new chief operating officer. Blumberg, a former Goldman Sachs executive, led the firm's European ETF accelerator business and will also serve as chief investment officer for Anemoy, Centrifuge's on-chain asset management affiliate.
The hire coincides with accelerating institutional interest in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. Major financial institutions are increasingly exploring blockchain infrastructure for bonds, funds, and equities—driven by potential operational efficiencies, expanded distribution channels, and programmable 24/7 settlements.
Market projections underscore the opportunity. The RWA tokenization sector has surged to $25 billion, more than doubling in a year, with McKinsey, 21Shares, and other analysts forecasting trillion-dollar growth within a decade.
Centrifuge positions itself as a regulatory-compliant bridge between traditional finance and blockchain, currently hosting $760 million in total value locked. Its flagship product—a $400 million tokenized U.S. Treasury fund issued with Anemoy—exemplifies the platform's institutional-grade approach.
